Poem: Someone Who Sees Her, 2017

Wind swept her off her feet but he was nowhere to be found
Although she spotted him from a distance
He disappeared as soon as he came
She thought that he was the one but
How could he be the one

Did he know her fears
Could he solve her problems
Could he write her wrongs right

She slipped away undetected
Not that she didn’t want him to notice her
But because that was all she could at the time

Because her heart belonged to someone else
Someone more powerful than ‘the one’
Someone who sees her ‘weakness’ as strengths
Someone who sees her ‘faults’ as attractive
Someone who sees her heart instead of her actions

And that someone is…
