What’s wrong with praise and worship?

It’s a familiar feeling but there is no dictionary defined word to describe it. There is no emotion to describe what it feels like it. It’s amazing, its warm inside of me not warm inside in terms of my anatomy its warm inside of my soul I believe that’s what you feel when you praise Him. It’s an indescribable feeling to the world we live in. Today someone told me “we cannot guarantee anything” but I beg to differ when you praise it’s a guaranteed pick me up charm. No earthly pick me up can compare to praising Him. When you are led by the spirit it’s a guaranteed feel good moment.

Why do we praise?

The google dictionary defines praise as:

1. expressing warm approval or admiration of
2. express one’s respect and gratitude towards (a deity), especially in song
3. the expression of approval or admiration for someone or something
4. the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship.

We praise Him to give glory to Him and honouring for who He is. We can praise Him to thank you for all He has done and for all He is still going to do. We should praise Him when we are going through rough patches and when we are being favoured by the Almighty. I would say praising is showing God what He means to you, I say it’s an expression of your love for Him.

How can one praise?

We can praise in many different ways. You can praise Him through; worship, prayer, song, dance, writing, mines etc. I can think of many other ways to praise Him. Praise can take the form of anything that allows you to honour God and demonstrate your love and gratitude of Him. I found a that internet is quite extensive in illustrating how you can praise, some sites were quite humorous but the main thing is you can use these sites to explore what you can do to praise Him but remember praise has no set defined actions.

When is the right time to praise?

There is never a wrong time to praise. Praising can happen throughout the day, when you sitting in traffic, when you looking at yourself in the mirror. I don’t know how many times I have heard someone say they said a prayer in the shower, in a meeting or at a conference. Praise does not have to happen on specific day or at a specific time.

The important thing is to remember praising doesn’t have to be perfect because God He sees your heart and He knows what you going to do before you do it. What I am saying is that He will know why you praising Him and that in its self are good enough for Him. He loves us with all our imperfections and quirks.
